Mental Health Courses

  • Mental Health 1 Day Level 3  (7 Hour Course)

Available for up to 16 people.   This course, which is aimed at your colleagues, who provide first aid cover for the business, to highlight what mental health is. Why people develop mental health conditions and how the role of the mental health First Aider can assist. How to provide advice and practical support for a person showing or presenting a Mental Health condition. How to recognise and manage stress, plus looking a range of mental health conditions. Understanding the use of substance abuse on mental Health. Understand the First Aid action plan and be able to put it in place. How to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace. 6 hour course.         

  • Mental Health 2 (2 Day Course)

Available for up to 16 people.  :- Over both days the course, which is aimed at senior management/main First Aiders, to highlight what mental health is for the business. Why people develop mental health conditions and how the role of the mental health first aider can assist. How to provide advice and practical support for a person showing or presenting a mental health condition. How to recognise and manage stress, plus looking a range of mental health conditions. Understanding the use of substance abuse on mental Health. Understand the First Aid action plan and be able to put it in place. How to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace. A range of mental health disorders and the support/therapy provided by healthcare professionals.12 hour course                              

  • Safeguarding Course (1 Day Course )

Available for up to 12 people. This course incorporates all areas when you are dealing with children, young adults and vulnerable adults.  Covering Safeguarding Legislation & Guidance, Indicators of Abuse & Neglect, Making judgements, Communicating Worries & Concerns, Roles & Responsibilities, Sharing Information, Allegations & Complaints, Reporting Allegations & Complaints, Final Written Assessment

Duration: 7.5 hours

  • Paediatrics First Aid Course (2 day Course)

Available for up to 12 people. This course incorporates all areas: Primary & Secondary Survey, Respiratory System, Resuscitation, Epilepsy, Circulation, Anaphylaxis, Bones, Foreign Objects, Chronic Conditions, Electric Shock, Burns, Poisons and Defibrillation etc. 

Duration: 12 hours over 2 days. Valid for 3 years.                                                                 

  • mini MEDICS  3.5 hour course aimed at 5 - 11 year old's

Available for up to 16 children. This course is a really good introduction for children to get into First Aid as no doubt the will be able to assist with an incident at home. This will give a clear understanding of how to help. Topics covered: contacting the emergency services;DR ABC, Resuscitation; Defibrillation, Recovery position, Choking, Asthma, Bleeding, Wounds and Shock. Perfect for Cubs/Scout groups. Clearly illustrated manuals for the children to keep.

Duration: 3.5 hours.                                                                                   

A minimum of 3 delegates are required for these courses.

Certificates will be issued following the successful completion of the course.

All delegates passing the courses will receive a monthly support First Aid 

Training topic emailed out to ensure that this is fresh in their mind.

Course manuals will be provided for all delegates.
