First Aid at Work - Offers a variety of courses for all your requirements.

First Aid Perthshire was established in 2016 to assist with local First Aid Training delivered by myself, Peter Richardson. With over 30 years in the Health and Leisure industry, I am now offering a wide selection of First Aid Training courses. I am fully qualified to instruct all of the listed courses and can provide plenty of experience from my dealings with all different types of situations I have encountered.

All courses can be carried out on site to allow your staff to be trained in familiar surroundings. Each course is a mixture of presentation with practical sessions and using a wide variety of first aid equipment which will enhance their skills in dealing with situations. 

Any delegate gaining a certificate will receive a monthly first aid topic emailed to ensure that First Aid is fresh in their minds. This will be a 3 year commitment.

  • First Aid at Work (3 Day Course)

Available for up to 12 people. This intensive 3 day course will prepare your employees with everything they need to know. It's an interactive course which includes; group work, practical assessments plus a wide variety of visual presentations. Areas covered:Legislation, Responsibilities, Primary & Secondary survey, Resuscitation, Respiration, Circulation, Wounds, Epilepsy, Burns, Bones, Head & Spinal Injury, Poisoning Anaphylaxis, Major illness etc.

Duration: 18 hours over 3 days. Valid for 3 years.                                                       

  • First Aid at Work Refresher (2 Day Course)

Available for up to 12 people. This 2 day course is perfect for employees that require to refresh their current First Aid Certificate. Course content as above.

Duration: 12 hours over 2 days. Valid for 3 years.                                                       

  • Emergency First Aid at Work (1 Day Course)

Available for up to 12 people. This course provides the training to deal with all emergency situations in the workplace. Areas covered: Legislation, Responsibilities, Primary Survey, Secondary Survey, Respiratory System, Resuscitation for Adult, Child and Infant, AED (Defibrillator) Wounds & Bleeding, Epilepsy, Burns and Scalds & Foreign Objects. 

This now incorporates A.E.D. Training.

Duration: 7 hours. Valid for 3 years.                                                                             

  • Emergency Paediatric Training (1 Day Course)

Available for up to 12 people. This is a 1 day course which essential if you are working with children.The areas cover in this are:- Role of the Paediatric First Aider, Primary Survey, Secondary Assessment, Resuscitation & A.E.D. Seizures, Choking, Wounds, Bleeding, Shock, Bites & Stings.

Duration 6 hours. Valid for 3 years.  

  • Outdoor First Aid (2 Day Course) 

Available for up to 12 people. This course equips you with the knowledge to deal with a wide selection of incidents when you are in an outdoor environment. This includes utilising other pieces of equipment, to ensure your casualty is cared for until help arrives. This is essential if you are in charge of a group outdoors near water, on the hills/mountains. Content includes: Resuscitation, Outdoor Scene Survey, Monitoring Vitals, Fractures, Head & Spinal, Major Illness, Anaphylaxis, Heat & Hypothermia, Burns, Poisons, Bites & Stings, plus great information over the 2 days.

Duration: 16 hours over 2 days. Valid for 3 years.                                                                                   

  • mini MEDICS  3.5 hour course aimed at  5 - 11 year olds

Available for up to 16 children. This course is a really good introduction for children to get into First Aid as no doubt the will be able to assist with an incident at home. This will give a clear understanding of how to help. Topics covered: contacting the emergency services; DR ABC, Resuscitation; Defibrillation, Recovery position, Choking, Asthma, Bleeding, Wounds and Shock. Perfect for Cubs/Scout groups. Clearly illustrated manuals for the children to keep.

Duration: 3.5 hours.                                                                                   

A minimum of 3 delegates are required for these courses.

Certificates will be issued following the successful completion of the course.

All delegates passing the courses will receive a monthly support First Aid 

Training topic emailed out to ensure that this is fresh in their mind.

Course manuals will be provided for all delegates.
